This 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda was refurbished under prior ownership and is powered by a 383ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the seller in 2018, and subsequent work involved rebuilding the front suspension and steering components, fitting power-assisted front disc brakes, replacing the rear shock absorbers and brake shoes, and installing a McLeod clutch and flywheel. Finished in orange over black vinyl upholstery, the car is further equipped with 15″ Rallye wheels, dual hood scoops, power steering, a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, and a push-button AM radio as well as long-tube exhaust headers and an aluminum intake manifold.
The car was finished from the factory in Dark Burnt Orange Metallic (FK5) and was repainted in its current shade of orange circa 2010 under prior ownership. Exterior details include black-finished 383 “hockey-stick” graphics, Rallye dual hood scoops, hood pins, ’Cuda 383 hood emblems, Sylvania headlights, fog lights, bright rocker-panel moldings, and rectangular dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance.
Silver-finished 15″ Rallye-style wheels feature chrome trim rings and are mounted with 255/60 front and 275/60 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and the steering components and front suspension were rebuilt under current ownership. Power-assisted front disc brakes were fitted in July 2023, at which time the rear brake shoes were replaced and KYB rear shock absorbers were installed.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl upholstery and joined by a color-coordinated headliner, dashboard, and door panels. ’Cuda-branded mats line the footwells, and the car is equipped with a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, woodgrain trim, a heater, and a Chrysler Solid State push-button AM radio. Rust is noted on the floorboards and the trunk panels.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a Rallye instrument clock, and a combination gauge for alternator status, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 383ci V8 is equipped with an aluminum intake manifold, finned Mopar Performance–branded valve covers, and Doug Thorley long-tube exhaust headers. The rear main seal was replaced in July 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
