This 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT was optioned with the Free Wheeling, Handling, and Heavy Duty Towing packages and is finished in Dark Brown Metallic over Saddle vinyl and patterned cloth. Powered by a 400ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a Traction-Lok rear axle, the truck is equipped with power steering, front disc brakes, and gold-finished 15″ alloy wheels. Additional features include a removable white fiberglass hardtop, a push bar, an electric rear window, a double-tube rear bumper, cruise control, and an increased-capacity fuel tank.
Finished from the factory in Dark Brown Metallic, the truck was repainted and orange pinstriping was added in approximately 1984. Exterior details include a removable white fiberglass hardtop, a push bar, fog lamps, low-mounted side mirrors, an electric rear window, and a double-tube rear bumper. The left rear quarter panel was replaced under previous ownership.
Gold-finished 15″ alloy wheels feature polished barrels and are mounted with 35×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. The truck came equipped from the factory with quad front and heavy-duty rear shock absorbers as well as front and rear stabilizer bars, power steering, and manually locking front hubs. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the master cylinder, booster, and rear wheel cylinders were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The front bucket seats and removable folding rear bench are trimmed in Saddle vinyl with patterned cloth inserts. Amenities include woodgrain trim, cruise control, and a center console. Infinity speakers are installed, as well as a new radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears a wrap and frames an 85-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles.
The 400ci V8 was factory-equipped with an oil bath air cleaner, a super cooling radiator, and an increased-capacity fuel tank. Output was rated at 158 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque when new. Added fresh fuel and replaced the battery before starting the engine after the truck had been parked. The oil has been freshly changed in preparation for the sale.
